In light of the difficulties they've been facing, Tranns and Lucien are granted a weekend in Calatia. In town,
Lucien wanders off while Tranns attends a poetry reading of a somewhat famous poet named Seth Porter. After the reading,
she strikes up a conversation with him. The two of them hit it off and Tranns invites Seth to join her for dinner.
They meet up with Lucien in the city and Tranns is stunned to learn that Lucien and Seth used to be lovers.
As an awkward moment begins to resolve itself, a young Hylian man named Katar descends on the trio, eagerly calling out
for Seth. Although he behaves as though he's intimate with Seth, Seth himself begins to panic, hissing that Katar is
actually his stalker. Katar is immediately
suspicious
of Seth's companions, particularly Lucien. When they try to leave him, Katar's jealousy erupts to full fledged
anger. He accuses Seth of cheating on him and decides that Lucien is the famed "raven haired man" from some of Seth's
poems.
Katar turns violent, trying to attack Seth. Tranns stops him, knocking
him off his feet. This merely infuriates Katar more. He vows that he'll be revenged on this perceived betrayal.
When he tries to hurt Seth, however, Tranns holds him off, engaging in a brief fight. Seth begs Katar to go and he agrees
that it's an excellent idea. Unexpectedly, however, he grabs Lucien and uses Farore's Wind to vanish, promising that
he'll make Seth love him again by destroying the competition.
Left in a panic, Seth explains to Tranns that Katar is his stalker, an obsessed
fan convinced that they are in love. Tranns tells him that she cannot use Farore's Wind to follow Katar because she
cannot picture where they need to go. They decide, instead, to look for locations found in Seth's poems about the "raven
haired man." Meanwhile, Katar begins to torture Lucien, tying him to a bed in Seth's hotel suite and beating him over
the head until he falls unconscious.
Seth and Tranns begin to systematically visit all of the locations in Seth's
poems about the "raven haired man." Eventually, Seth admits that the poems were, in fact, about Lucien. Tranns
is undaunted. As they search, they begin to talk about Lucien and the startling transformation he's undergone at the
Phoenix House. Seth is somewhat skeptical. Unfortunately, they are unable to find Lucien in any of the locations
Seth thinks up. Desperately, he wracks his brains as Tranns grows hysterical. Finally, he comes up with one last
possible location from the poems: bed.
Katar has begun using thumbnail torture techniques when Tranns and Seth barge
into the hotel suite. While Seth unties Lucien, Tranns and Katar engage in a massive battle, throwing Hylian spells
and punches back and forth. Katar sends Tranns flying unexpectedly, but Seth cracks him over the head with a book of
poems. Seth declares that he will never love Katar, then knocks him unconscious. Much to his surprise, as he leaves
to get the authorities to take Katar away, he sees Tranns and Lucien comforting each other. He realizes that Lucien
really has changed.
