After going months without hearing from her, Jesse decides one night to play the song he wrote for Sic on his ocarina.  As if on cue, when he finishes the song, he turns around and finds Sic standing before him.  He talks to her, trying to convince her to stop killing, even offering his own eyesight to her.  She says that this is who she really is, and that the reason she has come is to take Jesse with her.  Jesse plays a high note on his ocarina to signal for help.  Cirrus and Adriana arrive, but too late as Sic knocks Jesse out and disappears through a portal with him.

Cirrus begs Inigo to save his brother, feeling guilty that he couldn’t do anything for Jesse.  Inigo says he is going to save him regardless, then immediately disappears to go search the realm for him.  He finds Sic and Jesse in the woods of Catalan and approaches Sic.  He learns that a spell has been put on Jesse, preventing him from straying more than ten feet from Sic.  Sic and Inigo fight, but Inigo is forced to retreat.

Sic finds an abandoned house in the middle of the woods for her and Jesse to hide out in.  During his stay with her, Jesse tries to keep Sic from killing or harming anyone, but fails as he is forced to helplessly witness her murder twenty-seven innocent people in the span of two weeks.  Just when he is about to lose hope, he spots Inigo searching through the forest.  He grabs his attention through the window, but then sees Inigo wander off.

Inigo knocks on the door of the house.  Jesse goes to answer it, but Sic tells him to stay put and she answers it herself.  She is greeted by a wave of water rushing into the house, knocking her back.  Inigo then manipulates the spell that Sic put on Jesse, keeping Sic from coming anywhere near her husband.  When she tries, she is teleported far away.  Shocked and relieved, Jesse thanks Inigo for saving him.  The two head back to the Phoenix House together, where Jesse starts the healing process.

He pays a visit to Casey, asking her to melt down his wedding jewelry into a bauble which he fashions on the hilt of his sword.  The House is left uneasy, wondering when Sic will next appear.  Meanwhile, Sic herself receives a charming visit from Krieg, asking her to join forces with him.  She seems reluctant, but considers the possibility of seeing Jesse again.
