Philip is tied up in a storage closet and held hostage, closely guarded by a jealous Ewan. The two of them talk,
primarily about Ariadne, and Ewan admits his love for her, further adding that he would never dare to try and take her by
force. Meanwhile, Ariadne is sulking over the current situation when Lucien finds her. She asks him if there's
any way to keep Ganondorf from slaughtering them all. They realize that the situation can be peacefully resolved if
Ganondorf is displaced as commander by Philip, thus securing the sword for him. Around the same time, Adriana, admitting
a growing attraction for Aden, urges him to come up with a plan that won't result in all of their deaths, leaving her alone.
He agrees that if a peaceful solution can be found, he will accept it.
Together, Lucien and Ariadne, disguised as Gerudo messengers, manage to travel to Ebera where they find themselves
an audience with a rather unwilling Milady. They claim to be from Ganondorf's second in command, urging her to speak
with Zelazny about dethroning the horrible king in favor of his more popular and hard working son, Philip. Milady is
bemused, but quickly dismises them, having more important things on her mind. They return to the fortress dejected.
Lucien's depression gets the better of him and he starts drinking. Ewan goes to visit Philip. They discuss
the situation and Ewan points out all the benefits of restoring the old world. Philip finally agrees that the old world
is better once he learns that Ganondorf has no power there. He decides to help in the plan. His decision is made
just as Nassan and Briseis, one of Philip's Gerudo wives, arrive, hearing the news of the dire situation. Nassan discusses
options with Philip.
In the kitchen, an increasingly drunk Lucien encounters Briseis. They share a drink together, exchanging woes.
Lucien desperately misses Tranns. Briseis has spent her entire career being ignored by Philip. Commiseration quickly
goes sour when Lucien and Briseis kiss. Lucien immediately feels the weight of guilt fall on his shoulders. He
starts to explain to Briseis when suddenly a Gerudo guard comes in and catches them in an amorous embrace. She sounds
an alarm, calling everyone to the scene. Once it's established that Philip is no longer a hostage, the Gerudo law demands
that Philip execute Lucien for defiling his wife. Everyone argues over it when suddenly cold shivers begin to run through
the compound.
Ganondorf arrives. After blasting Lucien into a wall and scolding Nassan for breaking rank, he informs Philip that
he will make an example of one of the hostages for attempting to undermind his activity. He reveals that he has executed
Ariadne, sending Ewan into a rage. Ewan attacks him and a fight breaks out. Just before Ganondorf can kill Ewan,
however, Milady appears through a portal. She orders Ganondorf to withdraw and takes his sword, Philip's sword, from
him. Angrily, she tells him of the complaints she's been receiving about his command, complaints that Philip willingly
backs up. Milady strips Ganondorf of his command and hands his sword over to Philip.
Philip's first order of business is to banish Ganondorf from the realm. Once he's gone, Philip decides to restore
the timeline, hoping for a happier outcome. Using the sword, he sends Lucien home. After the sword is detoxed
by Casey, and deemed safe again, Lucien is finally able to decompress from his adventure. He reflects on his time with
Ewan, permanently manifested in a family heirloom, a ring, Ewan gave him to take back to the other world.
